The best way is to read the mini-HOWTO for "Cable-Modem" i belive thats in
/usr/doc/HOWTO/mini on Redhat.
Another way is take a look at http://people.zeelandnet.nl/pa3gcu/dhcp.htm
It is a little out of date but should give you some idea's.
Possably nowadays simply typing
/sbin/dhcpcd
Should get you going.
Remember that if the ethernet card concerned is a different one to which
has been used before along with the cable modem then you will possably have
to ask your provider to do some changes, as normally the cards MAC address
is registered in the modem's software meaning you can only use the
registered card.
