Hello,
I'm seeing lots of the following errors on an PE R200 with a SAS6iR
running SATA disks in a RAID1 set. OS is CentOS 5.4
There was a failed disk in this set which was replaced as SMART showed
it was likely to fail imminently. The RAID set rebuilt, however the
errors persist.
To me these errors suggest hardware, however since we've replaced the
disk the errors have stayed the same. To add to this that it's RAID1
so surely the card should handle these errors and not expose the OS to
problems. This should have been the case even in the first instance
with the failed disk and now again after the resync.
The RAID card has also been replaced.
The only consistent variable in this situation is the data on the
disk, but these do not look like data/fs errors to me, they look like
physical errors - I've seen similar errors on non-RAID systems many
times before.
sd 0:1:0:0: SCSI error: return code = 0x08000002
sda: Current: sense key: Medium Error
Add. Sense: Unrecovered read error
end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 718683735
EXT3-fs error (device sda6): ext3_get_inode_loc: unable to read inode
block - inode=69306471, block=69304389
Anyone seen this before or able to offer some insight? Thanks.
Thanks,
Monty
