One of our servers seems to have had some kind of SCSI failure, on 
booting it's currently hanging after these messages:

This is a PE2950 running CentOS 5.3 with 6 disks in 3x RAID-1.

I'd expect to see a few more disks and the PERC5 and backplane in the 
list. Anyone seen this happen or can suggests what to look at next 
before I make a site visit / call a dell engineer?
