Perhaps.  I'm currently running with the bnx2 driver for:

03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme II BCM5708 Gigabit 
Ethernet (rev 12)

This would be a different chipset to my other machines (typically they're
Intel e1000).
