Only mildly related, there's also an issue with Seagate green drives and a firmware update that was released on or about Sept 4 WRT to Tivo HD and Tivo HD XL units. This new firmware causes the Tivo to not successfully soft reboot, can only unplug and re-plug the power cable. It seems these firmware updates cross several models of Seagate drive (again, these are specifically the green versions in the Tivo). This is just pure speculation mixed with a little bit of SWAG, but if they're tinkering with base firmware for their drives, it may be related in this case. The firmware is supposed to be fixed in the latest released drives that the Tivo uses, double check that there hasn't been a really recent firmware release since you last updated your firmware. -- Regards...
