Hi,

As mentioned previously, I'm seeing drive and controller resets (and or
drives and controllers being marked as faulty) with SAS5 / SAS6, and
other LSI mpt based SAS cards with-respect-to ATA command passthrough
(as required for SMART monitoring, running SMART self-tests, SMART
temperature monitoring, the use of hdparm to control drive features, and
security-lock drives etc. etc.).

I've opened a bug on the kernel bugzilla at
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14831

If anyone's got an interest in seeing this working correctly, I'd
appreciate it if they could run the test scripts, and feed back to the
bug. Similarly any Dell employees who would like to get things moving
on this bug would be more-than-welcome to chip-in!

Thanks,

Tim.
