What version of the network driver are you running?

  ethtool -i eth0

I'd strongly suggest considering the networking updates available for the R410
at support.dell.com. Several updates were released in mid-December. I have
seen driver updates resolve issues similar to yours, though on different server
and OS. Use appropriate judgment, since CentOS is not an OS officially
supported by Dell.

Subject: issues with bnx2 - NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out

Greetings,

On our new R410, randomly when eth0 is pushing more than 30Mbps of traffic
the interface sometimes times out and shuts off:

Dec 15 07:53:59 web1 kernel: NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out
Dec 15 07:53:59 web1 kernel: bnx2: eth0 NIC Copper Link is Down

We are running CentOS 5.4 x86_64

Cat6 has been replaced, tried different ports on the switch, made no
difference.

This morning I found this post suggesting adding "options bnx2 disable_msi=1
in /etc/modprobe.conf"

http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=3832

Anyone else dealing with this?

Thanks.
