I've experienced also another problem with Dell/Broadcom/Debian
combo ( not on R410, but other relatively new hardware, which
i think is the case here ). I believe the reason is slightly
newer chip on the NIC with bumped model number, which caused
the NIC to be not recognized by the kernel as supported by the
driver it contains.
Debian folks are very orthodox with what they consider stable -
lenny's kernel ( 2.6.26 ). For the specific case i describe
i went with local non-netinst media install and installed kernel
from testing ( 2.6.30 ) afterwards.
