Hi Mukarram, The Bootstrap script will do all that you described: http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/bootstrap.cgi
First a cgi script is run: http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/_tools/bootstrap.cgi that configures the bootstrap.sh: http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/_tools/bootstrap.sh depending on the URL of your server. So, if you rsync the whole repo to your local http server, everything will work, without configuration. You'll want to rsync from: rsync://linux.dell.com/repo be sure to use the -H option to save space on your server. Another thing to watch out for are the .htaccess files. Be sure to allow overrides in your http server configuration. -Jeff From: linux-poweredge-bounces-Lists On Behalf Of Mukarram Syed Sent: Thursday, January 21, 2010 3:00 PM To: linux-poweredge-Lists Subject: Dell OMSA yum repository setup help Hi folks, I have a yum repository server configured which has an external connection to linux.dell.com. We are using this server as a Yum repository server for Oracle Enterprise Linux. I'd like to have our clients connect to this server and install/upgrade the OMSA and firmware RPMs. I'd like to know how to configure the server to automatically download rpms from linux.dell.com and how to configure the client's /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources file and the /etc/yum.repos.d/*.repo file to get the clients get the rpms from the server? I have referred to the document http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/latest/ which shows me how to configure if you have an direct link to linux.dell.com but not through another server. Appreciate the help. Thanks # mukarram _______________________________________________ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list [email protected] https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq
