Perhaps this is a bug in the Linux bridging code? Shouldn't "brctl setportprio" be used to force the MAC of the bridge to be the same MAC as the physical port - then it wouldn't change.... Didn't work last time I tried this tho (which I thought was probably a bug), and it's not particularly well documented, so I may have the wrong end of the stick here.
