Happy to report I was able to get OMSA 5.5 working on a test 2450 in our lab running CentOS 5.5 using the instructions from Chris Szilagyi's thread back on Sep 30, 2010.
The only additional step I needed to do was install libstdc++.so.5 due to a failed dependency. Thanks again for the shove in the right direction! I plan on installing it on two of our production 2550s tomorrow. There was a thread the last couple of weeks about Cent 5.5 on a 2450. They were able to get OMSA 5.5 functioning on it once a few details were worked out. I believe the steps for the 2550 would be the same as those that you already followed for the 2650s. The 6.x versions of OMSA have removed some of the low level support for older platforms so would probably not work for the 2550. We've got a couple 2550s that run great with CentOS 5.5. We're able to run OMSA v5.5 on two of our 2650s with CentOS 5, but does anyone know what's the latest version of OMSA that will install on a 2550 without too much trouble? The oldest system that's included at http://linux.dell.com/repo/hardware/ seems to be 2650. L Thanks, SJ
