Strange. We don't have any R410s, but I was under the impression that most 10th gen servers has power monitoring capability, including the R410. >> Interesting problem.. what does 'omreport chassis pwrmonitoring' say? > > "Power Consumption Information is not available on this system because > all the Power Supply units on your system do not support PMBus or the > firmware on your system does not support power monitoring." Yeah, that's the normal message from omreport when power monitoring is not supported. > Yes, I'm using SNMP. Running check_openmanage locally does not give > the error message. Locally, the plugin gets the expected output for systems with no power monitoring capability, so this is normal behaviour by the plugin. The weird thing is that for systems without power monitoring capability, there should be no information at all available via SNMP on this feature. If so, the plugin concludes that the feature is not supported and moves on. This is not the case here. Here you do have some information (such as probe index and name), but not all. I.e. the probe reading is missing. I believe that your R410 has power monitoring capability, but that the new BMC firmware has messed things up. > Restarting OMSA and snmpd does not change anything. Too bad. This is the usual fix :/ > Identical systems with BMC firmware 1.33 also don't show the error > message. So it seems that something in the reporting has changed. Yes, definately. Do systems with firmware 1.33 behave normally wrt. the command 'omreport chassis pwrmonitoring'? If so, the new BMC firmware is the likely cause. It may be that your current OMSA installation is not compatible with the new BMC, or vice versa. If you're not running the latest OMSA (version 6.3.0), you could try upgrading. I've run into similar problems myself when upgrading the BIOS on R710 systems with an old OMSA version installed. Regards, -- Trond H.
