Hi there, This question was posed about a year ago but never answered. Is there a preferred method of powering down an MD3000i ensuring no data loss or damage? My research on Google says the best process is:
- Stop all activity to the array - Flush all data to the storage array (e.g. shutdown the hosts or unmount the virtual disks) - Power off the RAID Enclosure - Power off any attached Expansion Enclosures It may sound simple, and there isn't exactly many switches on a MD3000i, but no harm to ask what other people's experience is? Just another paranoid sysadmin.
