The latter has a "dedicated" NIC, which is the default NIC selection - if this is the case, you should switch the NIC selection (in the Ctrl-E BIOS iDRAC6 Configuration Utility, select LAN Parameters, press Enter, then press Space on the NIC Selection until it shows one of the "Shared" options rather than "Dedicated", and press Escape twice and Enter once, to "Save Changes and Exit"). If you have an iDRAC6 Express, there is some other problem going on - but I'm not sure what it might be - did you configure the iDRAC6 Express to use DHCP for IPv4 network configuration? This is also on the LAN Parameters BIOS page, but you have to use the arrow key to scroll down to reach IPv4 Settings, and keep going until you see IP Address Source - this should be DHCP rather than Static. @alex -- mailto:[email protected] _______________________________________________ Linux-PowerEdge mailing list [email protected] https://lists.us.dell.com/mailman/listinfo/linux-poweredge Please read the FAQ at http://lists.us.dell.com/faq
