I am relieved to know this is a known issue!  Thank you so much for 
letting me know.  I will try the modprobe.conf route for the moment to see 
if that helps.

I only have 1 node :)  The network traffic load is very minimal, currently 
averaging around 256kbps...  The machine is just answering database 
queries over a local gigE network.

Well, it has only happened twice (the past two days) early in the morning.

I did not have it enabled until this morning after the second failure.  I 
will check it out if it happens again, hopefully not! :)
