For some reason I have not as yet been able to
compile the PPP module (ver 2.2.3). I have unchecked the version info
option that it says needs to be unchecked to compile into kernel (2.0.34), and
yet still I get nothing in DMESG. I have tried a lot of different
configurations with kernel to achieve this and still no luck. Maybe there
is another dependancy? I have read through the (to be nice...
completely inadequate) PPP_Howto. It has left me stumbling around with the
kernel configuration. I am fairly new to linux as a everyday operating
system (I use it at work, but I have never had to install it or
re-config/compile the kernel). I am traditionally a windows luser that
seeks a more stable platform. I know it's possible to get this going because I see a lot of other ppl in the list
that are past this point and on to another dose of fun & enjoyment with
PPP. I am hoping that someone can give me a nudge (or a shove!) in the
right direction with this problem.
