Possibly using unfavorable configuration parameters, maybe an unfavorable mru,
can cause your PPP connection to crawl. I had it happen to me in OS/2 Warp,
and some Web sites never responded but did respond when I used DOS-based
Internet access program, and did better in OS/2 Warp when I removed "mru 496".
Also, I tried EZLinkPM, and email receiving was very slow, like 45 minutes for
110000 bytes with 56K modem, though sending was normal, and I was able to
reproduce this condition, after which I deleted EZLinkPM.
