Hi,
I'm tring to setup a leased line with 2 USRCouriers V.everything between two
linux boxes, Slackware 3.6, kernel 2.0.35 and ppp-2.2.0.
The modems make negotiation and with two minicoms running on the machines I
can type whatever I want from one of thew machines to the other.
When I start ppp daemons, they just send 10 LCPs and complain that searial
line is not 8 bit clean, that all 7 bits are 1's and that no data was
received.
Here's my /etc/ppp/options on the local remote:
lock
modem
crtscts
-pap
-chap
mtu 576
mru 576
debug
passive
persist
192.168.1.1:192.168.1.2
netmask 255.255.255.0
asyncmap 0
on the local machine "passive" option is missing and IPs are vice versa.
Modems are set up in dumb mode with no result codes. I've programmed them
with the following AT commands:
ATF1
AT&F1&A3&B1&C1&D2&G0&H1&I0&K1&L1&N0&S2&W
the modem connected to the remote machine is set in AutoAnswer mode.
I would appreciate if someone give me a hint where might be the problem.
