Hello everybody!
1 month ago we buy a cyclom 8YeP card.
I install mgetty 1.1.9 with AUTOPPP.
A period of time (12 hours) its worked great, but after that, a modem in
hunting was blocked.
I read the log of that tty and I see that it blocked in the middle of the
nigth (I see the time stamp) just after the line "Removing lock file".
I upgrade to mgetty 1.1.14 but it's the same thing.
I suspect that someone of our clients has a ugly modem and blocked ours.
It's not allways the same line!
I insert in /etc/rc.d/rc.local the following lines, but no result:
stty sane 38400 < /dev/cub0; setserial /dev/ttyC0 spd_vhi hup_notify
....
stty sane 38400 < /dev/cub7; setserial /dev/ttyC7 spd_vhi hup_notify
I moved back to a Cisco, but I won't use it.
On the router the problem disapear!
One more thing: it's possible to be a problem with lock-files of the pppd?
