Help!
I am having problems establishing PPP connection.
The lastest configuration(s) are as follows:
With a 'chat' script to connect, I dial up and see
up to the speed prompt processed correctly (ie: '26000/ARQ'). THen
the log system shows the stream of characters that seem to match
the PPP connection = "{|{{@..'
After that, the script never sees the 'login:' or 'password:'
prompt. If I start 'Minicom' up immediately as the script fails, I
see the login/password prompt as normal and can even login and
see a 'establishing PP connection from <ip addreess>'. It dies
after this as the script didn't work.
Then I wondered if the 'ppp-auth' file would work, so I add
the 'auth' option and a 'ppp-auth' file containing my
login and password. This time, it runs much cleaner, but still
fails. The log looks something like this:
serial connection estabilished
/dev/modem <--> /dev/ppp
then, a few seconds later
LCD time for config messages (?)
any ideas?
