Hi All, I have a real weird problem. I am using Red Hat 5.1 and while connected as a PPP client I cannot get Newsgroups, either listings or news itself, to download. I have accounts at two news servers and my username and password is accepted but I cannot retrieve any newsgroup listings. I have no problems on the LAN and I can telnet to Port 119 as a PPP client from RedHat PPP. On the same IP network we have our old PPP dialup system still available which uses PowerBBS and DPPP and there are no problems with news clients. So it is all pointing to RedHat and/or Linux. Is there anything in RedHat that is stopping me from retrieving newsgroup data?
