Greetings, This is not a pppd issue, however, many of you people out their running/maintaining a ppp dialup server may of had this problem. Problem: Our modems, start flashing all sorts of weird light combo's some have all lights on, some have some on some off, some flash like a xmas tree:) This is obviously not a software problem. We have remote Pops all over our country, we have one particular pop 4hr drive away that constantly has problems with its modems. All our pops are almost identical, they run the same servers, same os, same modems , multi-serial cards etc, everything to the letter is the same. We constantly have the modems being affectted by what I assume to be some problem with the locations phone lines. Anytime there is a storm in the area this happens and sometimes it randomly happens. Does anyone experience problems like this? is the the phoneline? a surge/spike on the line, or is it a power problem??? modems being given too much/too little power? IF anyone has any advice , I would appreciate it. Or could it be something in mgetty that causes it? however it is every single modem on the pop. at the exact same time. thanks Matthew ---------------------------------- Business E-Mail : [EMAIL PROTECTED] Phone: (07) 3356 2603 Personal E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 05-Dec-98 Time: 16:36:53 This message was sent by XFMail ---------------------------------- - To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-ppp" in the body of a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
