I don't quite follow what you're after, but I have a pair of scripts
(ip-up & down) which I use to get tcpdump to log the entire ppp session
to a file, which you can then interpret afterwards. I overwrite the log
file each time, but you could easily save the last few sessions if you
were so inclined.
