Hello. I'm really stumped on this one, and I hope maybe someone can help.
I'm trying to set up a ppp connection under (Debian) linux. It looks like everything goes well, the login script works fine, and I even get an IP address from my ISP (dartmouth.edu). However, when I try to ping, telnet, lynx, etc. I am not able to. In fact, when I ping, I get a message "Error: sendto: operation not permitted."
I recently networked my two machines, and that is the only thing that I can think of that might be causing problems, unless something was corrupted during the install process. However, I'm not trying to dial out remotely, just on the machine which has the modem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Larry Gariepy
