Hi,

I have a linux box running RH 5.2 kernel version 2.0.36-3. On this
kernel the
PPP works fine. I just downloaded the rpm files for
kernel-2.2.3 and installed the kernel and modules successfully. After
rebooting
and starting the new kernel I get a message saying:

This system lacks kernel support for PPP. This could be because ....

I didn't get this problem when I upgraded the kernel from 2.0.36-0.7
to 2.0.36-3 following the same procedure as described above.

I know that one solution for this problem is to get the sources for the
kernel
and recompile. But I am wondering if there is a simpler solution.

Javid
