Most ISP accept PAP authentication. This makes things real easy if you are running
RedHat 5.0+, because you can use a program called linuxconf.
Just type: linuxconf at the command line and a menu driven program will lead you to
the pap connection. Once in linuxconf go Networking / pppslipplip / add and add the
details as required.
Then go back to the start and go into Control Panel / Control PPP/SLIP/PLIP links
and you can start dialing. This should do it.
If you do not have linuxconf or RedHat, consider getting them. You can download
linuxconf from:
http://dns.solucorp.qc.ca/linuxconf/
Good luck
