I started off thinking I knew what I was doing, is obvious now that I do
not know how to log a user in and start a ppp session. I try not to riddle
my posts with incidentals. I will try to explain my problem as clearly as
possible
mgetty seems to be passing off to pppd okay but the caller is merely
disconnected
with no reasons logged in any file. I am beginning to assume it is
pap-secrets.
the basic line to call pppd is similar to this:
/usr/sbin/pppd -detach crtscts modem proxyarp auth -chap +pap login
defaultroute
(entering this here in the post from memory)
pap-secrets looks similar to
* "username" "password" *
I even tried this (as suggests by someone once before)
* * * *
but the caller is disconnected with no reasons logged
any ideas?
