I think I've read as much documentation and asked as many people as I could find, so hopefully this won't be a FAQ :-) I have a USR 56K internal Faxmodem and am running Red Hat 6.0 with the kernel installed with the distro (lazy, lazy). I recently changed ISP's and now have this problem with losing my PPP connection after it has been established for a while -- no, not because it's idle, in fact the more active the connection, the faster it seems to drop. I don't get any obvious error messages from debugging. I would wonder if it might be a hardware problem except that I have had NO problems with my previous ISP. Also, I am fairly sure my ISP is not kicking me off because when I redial, it tends to complain that I am still logged in. They are linux-clueless and have no help for me. Switching ISP's is, unfortunately, not a good option. Here's what a typical session looks like: please help! Thanks in advance. May 31 17:44:04 SoSiouxMe pppd[12818]: Serial connection established.
