This really belongs on the PPP list, so I moved my reply.

As of ppp 2.3.7 (current is 2.3.8, I believe), PPP does not support
callback except as an NT client.  There is a patch and README.cbcp for
this included with pppd source since at least 2.3.5.  There is also a
client-side callback script included in the sample scripts directory.

You could always write a script to handle callback on the server end.
Someone may have done this already, but I can't help you further.  Good
