hello, i'm using redhat6.0 on an i586 and i just figured out how
to dial in to my ISP while logged in as root. problem is i can't
figure how to get this done as any other user. my permissions on
pppd are currently -rwsr-xr-x which i think should give users other
than root the ability to run the program and do whatever it needs
to do. one problem is that i haven't been able to run minicom as
any user other than root since i've upgraded to rh6.0. minicom
sez that it cannot create a lockfile or some such thing. i'm not
sure exactly what the permissions on my modem device currently are,
but i think that i at least have read and execute access for all
users. i can't remember exactly what error i am given when i try
to run my ppp-on script, but i can get it if someone thinks it would
be helpful in solving my problem.
