Have you upgraded your kernel by any chance? When I boot 2.2.10 pppd sends
empty LCP packets. Works fine with 2.0.29 and 2.0.36. I've tried
pppd-2.3.7 and 2.3.8, tried compiling the kernel with both egcs and gcc272,
and tried compiling pppd-2.3.8 with the 2.2.10 kernel headers. No help.
