Hi all, I've got portslave (1.2-pre12) running on a RH6 system with kernel
version 2.2.9 and pppd 2.2.8. all goes well up untill we have 100+ users
startup ppp sessions then this happens:

Syslog (kern.*)
Sep 1 19:13:33 t1 kernel: registered device ppp95
Sep 1 19:16:04 t1 kernel: registered device ppp96
Sep 1 19:16:17 t1 kernel: registered device ppp97
Sep 1 19:16:24 t1 kernel: registered device ppp98
Sep 1 19:19:21 t1 kernel: registered device ppp99
Sep 1 19:21:20 t1 kernel: ppp: dev_alloc_name failed (-23)
Sep 1 19:21:20 t1 kernel: ppp_alloc failed
Sep 1 19:21:33 t1 kernel: ppp: dev_alloc_name failed (-23)
Sep 1 19:21:33 t1 kernel: ppp_alloc failed

then pppd exits saying that ther is too many files open. While
a cat of /proc/sys/fs/file-nr shows this:
1920 35 4096

Does any one have any idea of how to fix this kernel to allow more than
100 ppp devices ??

Or if that is not the problem any one know what it could be?

Thanks in advance
