Hi,
Are you sure that your ISP as the same modem ? because they should not !
Usually they have Central Site Modem which support V90 in TX mode (your RX) up
to 56000 bps and only 28800bps in RX mode (your TX).
So if your ISP has a regular modem (client modem) it can only connect at
28800bps (or 33600) in V34 mode.
You have to set your DTE speed to at 57600 bps.

Subject: connection speed
I have 56k USR modem, i tried connecting to my ISP which have the same
modem but i only got 28800 bps connection speed. Is there anything i can
do for me to get a higher connection speed. What are the factors for this
problem.
BTW, i have linux Redhat 6.0
