I would like to get the reference book citation very much. I did pick up
the O'Reilly book "PPP" by Andrew Sun last night and it has been very
helpful. Now I'm starting to understand the negotiation process and many of
the options better. I am surprised to see how much incompatibility exists
between various PPP implementations (not as far as getting a basic working
link, but in getting any of the performance optimizations working).

My next task is to look closer at the detailed logging information.
pppstats sounds like it should be able to tell me what actually caused the
link to die.

Thanks for your help.
