conf.modules ???

When I get a windows machine to dial up I get this :
modprobe: can't locate module char-major-108
modprobe: can't locate module ppp0
modprobe: can't locate module tty-ldisc-3

I know I have to add some entries in /etc/conf.modules, but I have been unable
to work out what to add.

I have pppd 2.3.10, and kernel 2.3.28.
