Hi,
I have a situation where my linux box dials both a commercial isp and
then also another linux box acting as a PPP server.
If I examine the logs just after ATDT -
A dialin to the commercial ISP shows : CARRIER 48000
To my linux box @ work: CARRIER 26400
I've managed to get PROTOCOL and COMPRESSION to be the same on both,
but no matter what I try on the server (which runs MGETTY) if I set
the SPEED parameter in the port definition over 38400 MGETTY can no
longer talks to the Modem. I think it may be a setup string issue,
but I'm not sure how to determine the optimal setup string. Anyone
have any ideas?
I have noticed that my modem at home makes a louder noise when
connection to the commercial ISP - I've tried changing the DB
attenuation level to 0, but there was no change.
Any help/ideas appreciated.
Paul
