The linux-kernel mailing list? (always a good idea when running
development series kernels).
Thanks - I tried that. I subscribed to the digest. First day I got
three huge emails with 1000 or so subjects being discussed under 5000
headers, or maybe the other way around. In any case, it wasn't an
option to actually read much of it - I don't have the time. I'm self
employed, my wife is in bed, I'm trying to work, shop, cook, babysit,
do last year's accounts, and write the odd e-mail. They were going on
about a 2038 problem in the kernel code and there were patches for
patches on patches, but that's about as much as I found out there
I'll try the patch first. I'm running Suse 6.1, and the only glib
anything I have met was the sales talk ;-) . Seriously, I'm an
Electronics hardware type, and a lot of this software stuff goes over
my head. Suse has funny versions of some of the obscure little files
that nobody ever wants to know about (ld.so.**** and libc whatsit -
that sort of thing) but everything uses, so farting around with the
system big time is a real pain.
It isn't a learning curve - it's a mountain :>)
Thanks for the help, Graham
