To the group:

I, like many, am new
to Linux, having
spent most of my
time on MS machines
and have no
programming
experience (except
for some Apple BASIC
100 years ago in
high school). I
appreciate the
do-it-yourself
nature of Linux, but
I need some more
help connecting to
my ISP. Mindspring
has some good online
docs, but they do
not "support Linux."

 I have not yet
found adequate info
regarding LCP
(packets?) in either
the PPP HOW-TO or
the PPP FAQ, nor in
the pppd man page.
Whatever suggestions
you could offer
would be greatly
appreciated. . I
am running Caldera
OpenLinux 2.2 with a
US Robotics 56K ext.
fax/modem on
/dev/ttyS1.

A copy of
/etc/ppp/options
follows the log
file. I appologize
if I sent a bloated
message. I'm new to
this.

Thanks much,

Evan.
