No. ippp is something different. Your external ISDN-TA is supposed to do
the "hard" work. It should not make any difference to the application if
you use multilink ppp or not. Another reason is that an ISDN-TA usually
has only one DTE (serial, RS.232, V.24) interface so it's the ISDN-TA
that needs to transform the data to multilink ppp anyhow. 

And hey, "it works with Elsa MicroLink" external ISDN-TA.
