10.0.0.0/8 is reserved for private network use in RFC <mumble>. Such addresses
shouldn't ever leak out onto the Internet in case they cause problems for
people with machines that are multi-homed on the 'net and on a private network.
I believe some ISPs now filter such packets at their border routers to stop
them escaping too far. IPv6 has similar concepts (link- and site- local
prefixes).
