Hello everyone,
I have been trying to figure out if software compression is supported by my
ISP and wondered if there is a sure way to figure this out. Here are the
messages I get sometimes in /var/log/messages:
1. BSD-Compress (12) transient compression enabled.
2. BSD Compression deflate module registered
Is it correct to state that modem compression must be disabled if BSD
compression is to work - AT%C0 ?
Is it correct to state that by having the alias commands in
/etc/conf.modules BSD compression is disabled ? (If I dont do this I get
error messages like "can't locate module")
Maybe someone could just direct me to the right documentation on ppp
compression.
Thanks and regards
Rajiv
