Hi there,
A friend of mine has problems connecting to the german ISP t-online via
PPP.
He finds the following in his /var/log/messages :
....
Serial connection established.
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <asyncmap 0x0><magic 0x695d3d1f><pcomp><accomp>]
write: warning: Input/output error(5)
Modem hangup
Connection terminated.
There is no problem connecting to other call by call ISPs like freenet
e.t.c. It is most unlikely that he typed the password or userid wrong,
since he tried it several times switching between linux and Windooze where
he can establish the connection.
I myself have some expierience with PPP but have never seen this error
before.
Any ideas?
