maybe this is all trivial stuff, but I have a few questions about the
HP NetRAID controller (an AMI MegaRAID-clone, AFAIR):
- how good is it performing compared to SoftRAID and other hardware
controllers under Linux?
- is it possible (and does it make sense) to use a RAID-5 with this
controller for the whole system, or should I better use mirrored
drives for the OS and RAID-5 for the data?
- is it possible to add drive capacity afterwards without having to
reformat the array?
- are there any online diagnostics/administration tools for Linux?
