Rumor I heard today was supply problems from the company they get their
SCSI chips from.  Supposedly there's a problem in the production of the
U160's and I guess they'd abandoned the U2's figuring the market had moved
on to U160.

Something else.  I was back to thinking about ICP-Vortex, but then today
heard about Adaptec's new line.  Then someone from VA mentioned the new
Adaptec driver might not be entirely stable...and I don't even know yet
where it comes from.  I suspect it's a patch/new files done by someone at
Adaptec to be added into the 2.2 kernels

You're comparing a 233 StrongArm to a 100 i960.  I don't know much about
either CPU, but I don't know that you can meaningfully compare them based
on clock rate alone.
