That certainly is a powerful argument. It's always a good thing, though, to
know what you get for your money's worth. In this case it is a big time &
hassle saver at a reasonable price. But it's not necessarily a performance
boost (which would depend on the algorithm) over IDE SW RAID.

Thanks for the hint anyway (I am planning on trying out one of those 3WARE
controllers, although they're a bit hard to get hold of here in Germany)!
