Hi. I have two MegaRAID 300 controllers and two 2U rack mount boxes with 300W power supplies. Each box has 4 10k IBM 18G SCA disks connected to it. As a means to test the SCSI subsystem, I ran badblocks on the RAID5 configuration on each system. After about two hours of run time, the controller would report a disk failure. Clearing the disk failure in the BIOS would only last a little while until another drive would reportedly fail. Since the same scenerio occurs on both systems, it's unlikely both controllers and all 8 disks are bad. What could be the problem? Is a 300W power supply enough to drive 4 10k disk and 512Mb RAM? The cables are all high quality to the best of my knowledge. The terminators are standard active terminators. Ideas? Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
