Are you using the built-in qlogic driver?

I've been using the qla2x00src-4.15Beta.tgz from their website and it's been
working 99.99% fine (had big problems with the built-in module that made me
change). I've got a similar setup to yours.

Apparently there are still some periodic timeouts that I've heard about AND
experienced (not real frequently though -- once a day or so).
System does appear to lock up for about 15 seconds once in a while.

Subject: Bug in 2.4.1 md raid5 module

Hi,

When running md (built-in) and raid5 (as a module) on 2.4.1 with modutils
2.4.2 the system locks up solid when I do the following twice in a row:

dd if=/dev/zero of=/path/to/mounted/ext2/raid5/partition/filename bs=1k
count=400000

I created a 5 disk + 1 spare RAID5 on 100MB partitions of each disk (6 FCAL
disks + QLogic FC adapter). I did mke2fs /dev/md0 with no options. Chunk
size is 64K. The array was fully synced before the fs was built and mounted.

I'm running an SMP board + kernel with 1 CPU. NMI watchdog is enabled but
never fires. The system simply freezes with no messages (no caps lock/num
lock/scroll lock).

Thanks Ingo for setting up the sourceforge thing. I'll enter this into the
bug log as soon as I can get logged into the dang thing.
