Has anyone else noticed that the driver files available for download at
Adaptec are corrupt?
For example:
u160raid_sm_dr_suse70.tgz
sm_rhat6x_v303_install.tar.Z
Which are the archive driver distributions for Suse and Redhat
respectively. Each file contains thre RPM files:
DPTAPPS
DPTDRIVER
DPTSNMP
The suse tarball complains of trailing garbage in the archive-- making the
DPTSNMP package corrpupt. This is really of no consequence to me.
sm_rhat6x_v303_install.tar.Z unarchives with out error and the RPMs all
install fine. However, the DPTDRIVER RPM contains a file called
dpt_i2o.tgz, which is supposed to be the source code to the dpt_i2o
modules which drives the 2100S and other Adaptec RAID cards.
This file is corrupt in both tarballs (SUSE or Redhat).
Luckily, the install CD has a non-corrupt tgz of the dpt_i2o kernel
diffs. But it's extremely frustrating.
I'm also wondering if anyone has ideas about when the RedHat 7.X driver is
going to be available? There was mention of it on the list some time ago,
but nothing has materialized...
