Hi list,
I'm playing with my new pile of disks. I found out that if I have such
setup:
sda1,sde1 raid0 md3
sdb1,sdf1 raid0 md4
sdc1,sdg1 raid0 md5
sdd1,sdh1 raid0 md6
md3,md4,md5,md6 raid1 md7
and
sd[a-h]2 raid5 md8
and raidstart them one by one,
md7 & md8 do resync at the same time. IIRC there is a check in the raid
code that prevents syncing arrays at the same time, if they're on the
same physical disks. In my case, it doesn't work. Is it because md7 is
composed of md[3-6] and md8 of sd[a-h]2, or because md7 consists of four
units and md8 of eight?
Side effect of this is that i got (after echoing 10000 to
speed_limit_min) md8 resync speed of 10.5 Mbps and md7 of 500 Kbps.
It's not a problem for me, I just want to know if this is expected
behaviour or not.
