any ideas/thoughts?

this is a 2.0.35 machine w/latest raid0145 compiled into kernel
(since modules don't work? yet?) and raidtools 0.90

1. "mkraid --upgrade" failed until /etc/raidtab contained a "chunksize".
is chunksize now required in the raidtab, was it required before?
my old raidtab didn't specify chunksize and all seemed OK.
should mkraid assume a default value if chunksize is not specified?
what is a reasonable default chunksize?

2. once "mkraid --upgrade" seemed to succeed the kernel didn't
detect the presence of raid partitions. some searching finally
led me to the need to change the partition type to 86 or FD.
is this correct? where is this documented if so? if correct
does fdisk/cfdisk need to be changed to incorporate new partition
   types?

3. booting the kernel now gives the errors attached below.
But basically superblock checksums were hosed.
Any further attempts to run --upgrade proved useless, is there
a way to rebuild the superblocks without --force-r...etc?
   maybe --force-resync

4. ran mkraid "magic option omitted ;-)" and /proc/mdstat showed
reasonable md information. Subsequent running of e2fsck gave
   the following:

  > heli:/# e2fsck /dev/md2
  > e2fsck 1.10, 24-Apr-97 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09
  > /dev/md2 is mounted. Do you really want to continue (y/n)? yes
  >
  > The filesystem size (according to the superblock) is 2104384 blocks
  > The physical size of the device is 2104320 blocks
  > Either the superblock or the partition table is likely to be
corrupt!
  > Abort<y>? yes

mke2fs fixed things up, followed by restoral from backup(s), anyway
this shouldn't have been necessary had --upgrade really worked I
think!
